271 - Sheikh al-Zahid al-Hafiz Zain al-A'immah Abu al-Hasan Ali ibn Ahmad al-Asimi al-Khwarizmi narrated to us, saying: Al-Qadi al-Imam Shaykh al-Qudat Isma'il ibn Ahmad al-Wa'iz narrated to me, saying: My father, Shaykh al-Sunnah Abu Bakr Ahmad ibn al-Husayn al-Bayhaqi narrated to us, saying: Abu Sa'id al-Malini narrated to us, saying: Abu Ahmad ibn Adi narrated to us, saying: My father Ya'qub narrated to us, saying: Ibrahim ibn al-Hajjaj narrated to us, who said: Hammad, meaning Ibn Salamah, narrated to us from al-Kalbi from Abu Salih
from Ibn Abbas that al-Walid ibn Uqbah said to Ali ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon him): "I am more eloquent than you, have a sharper spear than you, and am fuller than you in a battalion." Ali (peace be upon him) replied to him: "Hold your horses, for you are a wicked man." Then Allah, the Exalted, revealed: {
"Is one who is a believer equal to one who is a transgressor? They are not equal" (Surah Sajdah 32:18),}
