- .... And it is narrated that Abu Sufyan said: O sons of Abd Manaf, catch it as you would catch a ball, for there is neither heaven nor hell there.

- .... And among the things narrated by the narrators from his saying is: "O Banu Abd Manaf, catch it as you would catch a ball, for there is neither Paradise nor Hell there." This is blatant disbelief that will bring upon him the curse of Allah, as it befell those who disbelieved from the Children of Israel through the tongues of Dawud and Isa ibn Maryam. This was due to their rebellion and transgression.
- .... And among the things they narrate is his standing at the pass of Uhud after his eyesight had gone and saying to his commander: "Here we drove away Muhammad and his companions."

- .... Al-Shu'bi said: So when Uthman entered his house, the sons of Umayyah entered with him until the house was full, then they closed it off. Abu Sufyan ibn Harb said: "Do you have anyone among you who is not one of you?" They replied: "No." He said: "O sons of Umayyah, you will catch it like a ball, and by the one whom Abu Sufyan swears by, there is no punishment, no reckoning, no Paradise, no Fire, no resurrection, and no Day of Judgment." Uthman rebuked him for this and was displeased with what he said, and he ordered him to be taken out.

- .... And among them is what the narrators reported from him regarding his statement on the day of Uthman's allegiance: "Catch it, O sons of Abd Shams, as you would catch a ball, for by God, there is neither paradise nor hell." This is clear disbelief that will bring upon him the curse of Allah.
- .... And among it is what is narrated about him standing at the pass of Uhud after his sight had gone and saying to his companion: "Here we threw stones at Muhammad and killed his companions."
