- .... And al-Bukhari narrated in his History, and ibn Jarir, ibn Mundhir, and ibn Marduyah from Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) regarding his statement: {Have you not seen those who exchanged the favor of Allah with disbelief and led their people to the abode of destruction?} (Ibrahim: 28) He said: These are the two most wicked of Quraysh, the sons of al-Mughira and the sons of Umayyah. As for the sons of al-Mughira, you were sufficed against them on the Day of Badr, and the sons of Umayyah were given enjoyment until a time.
- .... And ibn Jarir, ibn Mundhir, ibn Abi Hatim, al-Tabarani in al-Awsat, ibn Marduyah, and al-Hakim narrated, and he deemed it authentic from various chains from Ali ibn Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) regarding the same verse: {Have you not seen those who exchanged the favor of Allah with disbelief and led their people to the abode of destruction?} (Ibrahim: 28) He said: These are the two most wicked of Quraysh, the sons of Umayyah and the sons of al-Mughira. As for the sons of al-Mughira, Allah cut off their remnants on the Day of Badr, and the sons of Umayyah were given enjoyment until a time.
