- ....
And among them was Karkarah, the Mawla of the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), who was on a heavy load.- Thus it is mentioned, and I do not know of any narration for Karkarah, but he is mentioned in a hadith narrated to us by Abu al-Qasim ibn al-Husayn, who said: Abu Ali ibn al-Madhab narrated to me, Ahmad ibn Ja'far narrated to me, Abdullah narrated to me, from my father, from Sufyan, from Amr, from Salim ibn Abi al-Ja'd,
from Abdullah ibn Amr, who said: "He was on a mount," and once said he was on the heavy load of the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), "a man named Karkarah." When he died, it was said, 'He is in the Fire.'" They looked and saw that he was wearing a cloak that he had unjustly bound (in this world), and it was said at another time, "or a garment he had unjustly bound." Al-Bukhari narrated this from Ali ibn al-Madini, from Sufyan.
- Abu al-Fath Yusuf ibn Abd al-Wahid al-Mahani narrated to us, saying: Shuja ibn Ali al-Sufi narrated to me, from Abu Abd Allah ibn Mundah,
who said: "Karkarah had companionship (of the Prophet) but no known narrations," except that he is mentioned in the hadith of Amr ibn Kaysan, from Salim.
