Hadith No: 1

Narrated `Uqba bin Al-Harith:

When An-Nuaman or his son was brought in a state of drunkenness, Allah's Messenger (s.a.w.a.) ordered all those who were present in the house to beat him. I was one of those who beat him. We beat him with shoes and palm-leaf stalks.

Hadith No: 2

Narrated `Uqba bin Al-Harith:

An-Nu`man or the son of An-Nu`man was brought to the Prophet (s.a.w.a.) on a charge of drunkenness. So the Prophet (s.a.w.a.) ordered all the men present in the house, to beat him. So all of them beat him, and I was also one of them who beat him with shoes.

Narrated' `Uqba bin Al-Harith:

An-Nu`man or the son of An-Nu`man was brought to the Prophet (s.a.w.a.) in a state of intoxication. The Prophet (s.a.w.a.) felt it hard (was angry) and ordered all those who were present in the house, to beat him. And they beat him, using palm-leaf stalks and shoes, and I was among those who beat him.

2446 - Naiman had companionship (sahabah).
Commentary: In the margin of a copy: He is Naiman ibn Amr ibn Rifa'ah ibn al-Harith ibn Suwad ibn Malik ibn Ghanm ibn Malik ibn al-Najjār. He witnessed the Battle of Badr and had a playful personality.

2886 - Uqbah ibn al-Harith ibn Amir, Abu Sarwu'ah ibn al-Harith ibn Abd Manaf al-Qurashi (ra) had the companionship of the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny). He was a Hijazi. Sulayman ibn Harb narrated to us: Wahb narrated to us from Ayyub from Ibn Abi Mulaykah that Uqbah ibn al-Harith (ra) came to the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) with al-Nu'man, and the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) ordered those in the house to strike him.

502 - Abd al-Aziz ibn Abdullah narrated to me that Ibn Abi Zinad narrated to him from his father that Khawajah ibn Zayd informed him that ibn al-Nu'man, from the Ansar, was killed while drunk by Umarah ibn Yazid ibn Thabit, a man from Banu al-Najjar. So we came with Muawiya's letter to Sa'id, and Sa'id ibn al-Aas handed it over after we swore fifty oaths that we did not kill him.
