Hadith No: 1
Al-Tabarani - al-Mu'jam al-Kabir - Chapter on the letter ‘Ayn - What was narrated by Uqbah

977 - Ja'far ibn Muhammad ibn Harb al-Abbadi narrated to us, who said: Sulayman ibn Harb narrated to us, and Muhammad ibn al-Abbas the tutor narrated to us, who said: Affan ibn Muslim narrated to us, both saying: Wahb narrated to us, from Ayyub, from Ibn Abi Miliaka from Uqbah ibn al-Harith, who said: Al-Nu'man or Ibn al-Nu'man was brought to him while he was drunk, and it was very difficult for the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny). So he commanded those in the house to strike him, and they struck him with sandals and palm fronds. Uqbah said: So I was among those who struck him.

978 - Muhammad ibn Salih ibn al-Walid al-Narshi narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn al-Muthanna narrated to us, saying: Abd al-Wahhab al-Thaqafi narrated to us, saying: Ayyub narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Mulaika from Uqbah ibn al-Harith, who said: "Al-Nu'man ibn Qais or one of the sons of al-Nu'man was brought to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) while he was intoxicated, and the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) ordered those in the house to strike him. I was among those who struck him, and we struck him with sandals and palm fronds."
