2454 - As narrated to us by Ibrahim ibn Marzuq, who said: Afan narrated to us. (h) And as narrated to us by Ibn Abi Dawud, who said: Suleiman ibn Harb narrated to us. And as narrated to us by Muhammad ibn Khuzaymah, who said: al-Mu'alli ibn Asad narrated to us. They all said: Wahb narrated to us from Ayyub, from Ibn Abi Mulaika
from Uqbah ibn al-Harith, who said: Al-Nu'man was brought to the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) while he was intoxicated, and this caused the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) great distress. So, he ordered those in the house to punish him, and they struck him with sandals and palm fronds on his back. And I was among those who struck him, although Ibn Abi Dawud said in his narration: with al-Nu'man or the son of al-Nu'man, and among them was Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him).
