- .... And in another narration, he said: When the Day of Hunayn came, I saw a man from the Muslims fighting a man from the polytheists, and another polytheist sneaking up behind him to kill him. So, I hurried to the one who was sneaking up and he raised his hand to strike me, and I struck his hand, cutting it off. Then he seized me and pulled me into a tight embrace until I was frightened, and then he released me, loosened, and pushed him away. I then killed him.
And the Muslims were defeated, and they fled with me. Suddenly, I saw Umar ibn al-Khattab among the people, and I said to him: What is the matter with the people? He said: The command of Allah. Then the people began to return to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) ....
