Hadith No: 1
Ibn Daoud al-Hilli - Rijal Ibn Daoud
Page Numbers: (106, 225, and 249)
- .... As for the narration from us, it is with a weak chain of transmission. The صاحب (owner) of Bihār al-Anwār narrated it from Aban ibn Abi Ayash, from Sulaym, from Sulaym ibn Qays, and the problem is with the individual who narrated from Sulaym, namely Aban. Ibn Abi Daoud al-Hilli said: (Sulaym ibn Qays, the companion of the Hilali book... (Ghad) - meaning al-Ghadha'iri) - his book is fabricated.
- .... And he said in the biography of Aban ibn Ayash: (Weak; it is said that he fabricated the book of Sulaym ibn Qays).
- .... And Sulaym ibn Qays al-Hilali is attributed to the well-known book, which is fabricated -- then he said: -- (Ghad) -- meaning al-Ghadha'iri -- only Aban ibn Abi Ayash narrated from him, and the book contains notorious unusual reports, and I do not believe it is anything other than fabricated.

Page numbers: (83 and 206 and 207)
- .... Al-Hilli said: And we have mentioned that Ibn 'Aq dah in the رجال (Men) of Ameer al-Mu'mineen (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) narrated traditions from him. And the book is fabricated, there is no doubt about it, and there are signs that indicate what we have mentioned.
- .... He also said in his biography of Abān: a very weak تابعی (successor) who narrated from Anas ibn Mālik and from al-Husayn (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), not to be regarded.
- .... And he said in his biography: Al-Abqawī, in my opinion, is to be met with caution regarding what he narrates, due to Ibn al-Ghadhā'irī's testimony against him of weakness.
- .... Similarly, our Sheikh al-Tūsī (may Allah have mercy on him) said in the book of men: Weak.

- .... Abān ibn Abī ʿAyāsh: with the dotted ش. Ibn al-Ghadā'irī said: "He is weak," and Sayyid ʿAlī ibn Aḥmad said: "He was of corrupt belief but then repented." The reason for his acquaintance with this matter was Salīm ibn Qays.
- .... Abān ibn Abī ʿAyāsh: with the undotted ع and dotted ش, and the name Abī ʿAyāsh is Fīrūz, with a open ف, a static ی marked with two dots underneath, followed by an ر, and then a و and ز. He is a weak تابعی who narrated from Anas ibn Mālik and from Ali ibn al-Ḥusayn (peace be upon them). He is not given any consideration, and our companions attribute the authorship of the book of Salīm ibn Qays to him. This was conveyed by al-ʿAllāmah from Ibn al-Ghadā'irī, and he also said: Our teacher al-Ṭūsī (may Allah have mercy on him) said in his book al-Rijāl: "He is weak."
