Companions drank the urine of camel

Hadith No: 1

Narrated Abu Qilaba:

Anas said, "Some people of `Ukl or `Uraina tribe came to Medina and its climate did not suit them. So the Prophet (s.a.w.a.) ordered them to go to the herd of (Milch) camels and to drink their milk and urine (as a medicine). So they went as directed and after they became healthy, they killed the shepherd of the Prophet and drove away all the camels. The news reached the Prophet (s.a.w.a.) early in the morning and he sent (men) in their pursuit and they were captured and brought at noon. He then ordered to cut their hands and feet (and it was done), and their eyes were branded with heated pieces of iron, They were put in 'Al-Harra' and when they asked for water, no water was given to them." Abu Qilaba said, "Those people committed theft and murder, became infidels after embracing Islam and fought against Allah and His Apostle ."

Narrated Anas:

Some people from `Uraina tribe came to Medina and its climate did not suit them, so Allah's Messenger (s.a.w.a.) allowed them to go to the herd of camels (given as Zakat) and they drank their milk and urine but they killed the shepherd and drove away all the camels. So Allah's Messenger (s.a.w.a.) sent (men) in their pursuit to catch them, and they were brought, and he had their hands and feet cut, and their eyes were branded with heated pieces of iron and they were left in the Harra (a stony place at Medina) biting the stones. Hadith No: 3

Anas b. Malik reported that some people belonging (to the tribe) of 'Uraina came to Allah's Messenger (s.a.w.a.) at Medina, but they found its climate uncogenial. So Allah's Messenger (s.a.w.a.) said to them:

If you so like, you may go to the camels of Sadaqa and drink their milk and urine. They did so and were all right. They then fell upon the shepherds and killed them and turned apostates from Islam and drove off the camels of the Prophet (s.a.w.a.). This news reached Allah's Apostle (s.a.w.a.) and he sent (people) on their track and they were (brought) and handed over to him. He (the Holy Prophet) got their hands cut off, and their feet, and put out their eyes, and threw them on the stony ground until they died.

11631 - Ibn Abi Uday narrated to us, from Humeid, from Anas, who said: A group of people from 'Uraynah embraced Islam but felt unwell in the city. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said to them: "If you go out to one of our herds, you may drink from its milk." Humeid said: And Qatadah narrated from Anas: "and its urine," and they did so. When they became healthy, they disbelieved after their Islam, killed the caretaker of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) while he was a believer or a Muslim, and drove away the herd of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), fleeing as combatants. So the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) sent people in pursuit of them, and they were captured. He ordered that their hands and feet be cut off, their eyes be pierced, and they be left in the alleyways until they died.

Anas narrated:

"Some people from Urainah arrived in Al-Madinah, and they were uncomfortable (and ill from the climate). So Allah's Messenger (s.a.w.a.) sent them some camels from charity. He told them: "Drink from their milk and urine." So they killed the camel driver that Allah's Messenger (s.a.w.a.) sent, and they violently drove off the camels, and apostatized from Islam. So the Prophet (s.a.w.a.) came to them, he cut off their hands and feet on opposite side, and branded their eyes, and threw them in Al-Harrah." Anas said, "So I saw one of them working over the ground with his mouth, until they died."

They felt unwell in Medina until their complexions turned yellow and their stomachs swelled. The Prophet of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) sent them to his she-camels and instructed them to drink from her milk and urine until they recovered. Then they killed her attentives and drove off the camels. The Prophet of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) sent in pursuit of them, and when they were brought back, he cut off their hands and feet and nailed their eyes shut. Abd al-Malik, the Commander of the Faithful, said to Anas while he was narrating this hadith, regarding their actions: with disbelief or for a sin? He replied: with disbelief.
