- .... And Abu Ya'la and al-Bayhaqi narrated in al-Dala'il from the route of Hunayd ibn al-Qasim, who said: I heard Amir ibn Abdullah ibn al-Zubair say that his father narrated to him that he went to the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) while he was cupping. When he finished, he said: O Abdullah, take this blood and pour it out where no one can see you. When he distanced himself from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), he took the blood and drank it. When he returned, he said: O Abdullah, what did you do with the blood? He replied: I placed it in the safest place I knew would be hidden from people. He said: Perhaps you drank it. He said: Yes. The Prophet said: And why did you drink the blood? Woe to the people from you, and woe to you from the people. Abu Musa said: Abu Asim mentioned that they believed the strength he had was from that blood, and there is a corroborating witness from the route of Kaysan, the freedman of Ibn al-Zubair, from Salman al-Farsi, which we narrated in a section of al-Ghathif, with an additional note at the end: "Fire will not hold unless it is the resolution of an oath."

- .... And it has been narrated through various channels: that Abdullah ibn al-Zubayr drank from the blood of the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny). The Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) had cupped and his blood was in a basin, which Abdullah ibn al-Zubayr took to pour out, but he drank it instead. He then said to him: "The fire will not hold you, except as a resolution of the oath, and woe to you from the people, and woe to the people from you."
- .... In another narration, it is mentioned that he said to him: "O Abdullah, go with this blood and pour it out where no one can see you." But when he was far away, he took that blood and drank it. When he returned, he was asked, "What did you do with the blood?" He replied, "I drank it to increase my knowledge and faith," and to have something of the body of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) within me, for my body is more deserving of it than the earth." He said: "Rejoice, the fire will never hold you, and woe to you from the people, and woe to the people from you."

- .... And the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) was commanded to bury his blood where he had been cupped, so that dogs would not search for it. My father (may Allah be pleased with him and grant him peace) narrated to us this, saying: Musa ibn Isma'il narrated to us, who said: Al-Hunayd ibn al-Qasim ibn Abdul-Rahman ibn Ma'az narrated to us, saying: I heard Amir ibn Abdullah ibn az-Zubair say that his father told him he went to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) while he was being cupped, and when he finished, he said: "O Abdullah, take this blood and pour it out where no one can see you." When he had moved away from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), he went to the blood and drank it. When he returned, he said: "O Abdullah, what did you do with it?" He went to the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) while he was cupping (hijama), and when he finished, he said: "O Abdullah, take this blood and spill it where no one can see you." When he had moved away from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), he went to the blood and drank it. When he returned, the Prophet asked, "What did you do with the blood?" 13407 - Abu al-Hasan Ali ibn Ahmad ibn Abdain informed us, saying: Ahmad ibn Ubayd narrated to us, as did Muhammad ibn Ghalib, Musa ibn Isma'il Abu Salamah narrated to us, from Hunaid ibn al-Qasim, who said: I heard Amir ibn Abdullah ibn al-Zubayr narrating from his father, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) underwent cupping and gave me his blood, saying: "Go and bury it; no one should seek it out—whether a wild animal, dog, or human." So I moved away from him and drank it, then came to the Prophet of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), and he said: "What did you do?" I said: "I did what you commanded me." He replied: "I don't see you except that you have drunk it." I said: "Yes." He said: "What will your ummah (community) receive from you?" Abu Ja'far added: Some of the hadith scholars further told me from Abu Salamah that they believe the strength that was in Ibn al-Zubayr was a result of the strength of the Prophet's (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) blood. (Shaykh, may Allah have mercy on him, narrated that this was reported from other sources, including from Asma bint Abi Bakr and from Salman, regarding Ibn al-Zubayr's (may Allah be pleased with him) drinking of his blood, and it was narrated from Safinah that he drank it.)
