The statement "Come to the best of actions" in the call to prayers (Azaan)

Ibn Abi Shaiba - Al-Kitab al-Musannaf fi al-Ahadith wa al-Athar

1 - Abu Bakr narrated to us, saying: Hatem ibn Isma'il narrated to us, from Ja'far, from his father, and Muslim ibn Abi Maryam, that Ali ibn Husayn used to call the Adhan, and when he reached "Hayya ala al-falah" (Hasten to success), he would say, "Hayya ala khayr al-'amal," and he would say that it was the first Adhan.
3 - Abu Usamah narrated to us, saying: Ubaydullah narrated to us, from Nafi', who said that Ibn Umar added "Hayya ala khayr al-'amal" to his Adhan.

1919 - Abu Abdullah al-Hafiz and Abu Sa'id ibn Abi Umr both narrated to us, saying: Abu al-Abbas Muhammad ibn Ya'qub narrated to us, saying: Yahya ibn Abi Talib narrated to us, saying: Abd al-Wahhab ibn Ata narrated to us, saying: Malik ibn Anas narrated from Nafi', who said: Ibn Umar would say the Takbir three times in the call to prayer and would witness (the prayer) three times. Sometimes, when he said "Hayya 'ala al-Falah," he would, immediately after it, say "Hayya 'ala Khayr al-'Amal." Abdullah ibn Umar narrated from Nafi' that Ibn Umar would sometimes add to his adhan: "Hayya 'ala Khayr al-'Amal."

1920 - And Al-Layth ibn Sa'd narrated it from Nafi' as Abu Abdillah al-Hafiz informed us: Abu Bakr ibn Ishaq narrated to us, saying: Bishr ibn Musa narrated to us, saying: Musa ibn Dawud narrated to us, from Al-Layth ibn Sa'd from Nafi', who said: Ibn Umar would not have the call to prayer (adhan) made during his travels, and he would say: "Hayya 'ala al-falah" (Come to success), and sometimes he would say: "Hayya 'ala Khayr al-Amal" (Come to the best of actions)." And Muhammad ibn Sirin narrated from Ibn Umar that he would say this in his adhan, and Nasir ibn Dhalluq narrated it similarly from Ibn Amr, saying: in travel. And this was also reported from Abu Umamah.

It has been authentically reported from Ibn Umar and Abu Umamah ibn Sahil ibn Hunayf that they used to say in their Adhan: "Hayya 'ala khayr al-'amal" (Hasten to the best of deeds), but we do not endorse this because it was not authentically reported from the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), and there is no evidence in the actions of anyone below him. Indeed, it would be necessary for anyone who makes such a statement about a Companion to adhere to a similar position, as this cannot be said based on personal opinion: to follow Ibn Umar's view in this matter, which is firmly established from him through the most reliable chain of transmission.

He then narrated from al-Layth ibn Sa'd, from Nafi, from Ibn Umar, to the same effect. And Ubaydullah ibn Umar narrated from Nafi that Ibn Umar would occasionally add "Hasten to the best of deeds" in his call to prayer.
