Interpretation of His Statement, Exalted be He: {So whoever hastens [to leave] in two days, there is no sin upon him, and whoever delays, there is no sin upon him}

Sa'id ibn Mansur, Abu Ya'la, al-Tabarani, Ibn Adi, al-Daraqtuni, al-Bayhaqi in al-Shu'ab, and Ibn Asakir narrated from Ibn Umar, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said, "Whoever performs Hajj and then visits my grave after my death is like one who visited me during my lifetime."
- .... Al-Hakim al-Tirmidhi, al-Bazzar, Ibn Khuzaymah, Ibn Adi, al-Daraqtuni, and al-Bayhaqi narrated from Ibn Umar, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said, "Whoever visits my grave, my intercession becomes obligatory for him."
- .... Al-Tabarani narrated from Ibn Umar, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said, "Whoever comes to me as a visitor, not being driven away by any need other than my visit, it is a right upon me to be his intercessor on the Day of Resurrection."
- .... al-Tayalisi and al-Bayhaqi in al-Shu'ab narrated from Umar, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) say, "Whoever visits my grave, I will be his intercessor or witness," and whoever dies in one of the two holy places will be raised by Allah among the secure on the Day of Resurrection.
- .... al-Bayhaqi narrated from Haatib, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said, "Whoever visits me after my death is as if he visited me in my lifetime," and whoever dies in one of the two holy places will be raised among the secure on the Day of Resurrection.
- .... Ibn Abi Dunya and al-Bayhaqi narrated from Anas ibn Malik that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said, "Whoever visits me in Medina, expecting reward, I will be his witness and intercessor on the Day of Resurrection."
- .... al-Bayhaqi narrated from Abu Huraira, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said, "There is no servant who sends peace upon me at my grave except that Allah assigns an angel to convey it to me, and He takes care of his last and worldly affairs, and I will be his witness and intercessor on the Day of Resurrection."
- .... al-Bayhaqi narrated from Abu Huraira that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said, "There is no Muslim who sends peace upon me except that Allah returns my spirit to me until I respond to him."
- .... al-Bayhaqi narrated from Ibn Umar that he would come to the grave and greet the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) without touching the grave, then he would greet Abu Bakr and then Umar.
- .... al-Bayhaqi narrated from Muhammad ibn al-Munkadir, who said: I saw Jabir weeping at the grave of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) and saying: Here, tears are shed. I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) say, "What is between my grave and my pulpit is a garden from the gardens of Paradise."

Ibn Abi Dunya and al-Bayhaqi narrated from Munib ibn Abdullah ibn Abi Ummamah, who said: I saw Anas ibn Malik come to the grave of the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), where he stood and raised his hands until I thought he was beginning to pray. He then sent peace upon the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) and departed.
- .... Ibn Abi Dunya and al-Bayhaqi narrated from Sulayman ibn Sahim, who said: I saw the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) in a dream. I said, "O Messenger of Allah, those who come to you and greet you, do you understand their greetings?" He said, "Yes, and I respond to them."
- .... al-Bayhaqi narrated from Hatem ibn Marwan, who said: Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz would send messengers aiming for Medina to convey greetings from the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) on his behalf.

Ibn Abi Dunya and al-Bayhaqi narrated from Abu Fadik, who said: I heard some of those I met say: It has reached us that whoever stands by the grave of the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) and recites this verse: {Indeed, Allah and His angels send blessings upon the Prophet. O you who have believed, ask [Allah to confer] blessings upon him and ask [Allah to grant him] peace} (Surah Al-Ahzab 33:56) صلى الله عليك يا محمد until he says it seventy times, an angel will respond to him, saying, "Peace be upon you, O so-and-so, no need of yours has gone unfulfilled."
- .... al-Bayhaqi narrated from Abu Harb al-Hilali, who said: A Bedouin performed Hajj, and when he came to the door of the Mosque of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), he tethered his mount and entered the mosque until he came to the grave. He stood in front of the Messenger of Allah's (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) face and said: "With my father and mother upon you, O Messenger of Allah! I have come to you burdened with sins and errors, seeking your intercession with your Lord, because He said in His clear Book: {And if, when they wronged themselves, they had come to you, O Muhammad, and sought forgiveness from Allah, and the Messenger had sought forgiveness for them, they would have found Allah Accepting of repentance and Merciful} (Surah An-Nisa 4:64). And I have come to you, with my father and mother upon you, burdened with sins and errors, seeking your intercession with your Lord to forgive my sins and to intercede for me." Then he turned among the people, saying:
"O best of those buried in the earth, your greatness
makes the valleys and hills pure from their blessed fragrance.
Myself be a sacrifice for the grave you inhabit,
which holds chastity, generosity, and nobility."
