[The text is lengthy, so only the relevant excerpt is provided here]
2748 - Section: It is recommended to visit the grave of the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) because al-Daraqutni narrated with his chain of transmission from Ibn Umar, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said, "Whoever performs Hajj and visits my grave after my death is as if he has visited me during my lifetime." In another narration: "Whoever visits my grave, my intercession becomes obligatory for him."
- .... Al-Daraqutni also reported this in the first wording from Sa'id, who said: Hafs ibn Sulayman narrated to us from Luys from Mujahid from Ibn Umar. Ahmad said regarding the narration of Abdullah from Yazid ibn Qusait from Abu Huraira that the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: "There is no one who greets me at my grave except that Allah returns my spirit to me so that I can return his greeting." And if someone who has never performed Hajj goes, meaning one not coming from the direction of Sham, he should not take the route of Medina, as I fear an event may occur to him. He should aim for Mecca from the most direct routes and not occupy himself with anything else.
- .... It is narrated from al-Atabi that he said: "I was sitting by the grave of the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) when an Arab came and said: 'Peace be upon you, O Messenger of Allah. I heard Allah say:' {And if, when they wronged themselves, they had come to you, O Muhammad, and sought forgiveness of Allah, and the Messenger had asked forgiveness for them, they would have found Allah Accepting of repentance and Merciful} (Surah an-Nisa 4:64) 'And I have come to you seeking forgiveness for my sin, interceding with my Lord through you.' Then he began to say:
O best of those buried in the vast earth,
your grave is a place of purity,
and the earth and hills are fragrant with your blessings.
My soul is a ransom for the grave you inhabit,
within it are chastity, generosity, and nobility."
Then the Arab turned to leave, and my eyes followed him, and I fell asleep. I saw the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) in my dream, who said: 'O Atabi, go to the Arab and give him the good news that Allah has forgiven him.'
