Taking blessings from Prophet (s.a.w.a.)'s place of holy body

Hadith No: 1

Anas b. Malik reported that when Allah's Messenger (s.a.w.a.) had completed his dawn prayer, the servants of Medina came to him with utensils containing water, and no utensil was brought in which he did not dip his hand; and sometime they came in the cold dawn (and he did not feel reluctant in acceding to their request even in the cold weather) and dipped his hand in them.

20142 - Abu Sa'id, the freedman of the Banu Hashim, narrated to us, saying: Dhiyal ibn Ubayd ibn Hanzalah narrated to us, who said: I heard Hanzalah ibn Khudhaym, my grandfather, say that his grandfather, Huniifah, said to Khudhaym: "Gather my sons for me, for I wish to make a will." So he gathered them, and he said: "The first thing I wish to bequeath is to my orphan, this one in my lap, one hundred camels that we used to call in the Days of Ignorance al-Muṭayyabah." Khudhaym said: "O father, I heard your sons say, 'We will only acknowledge this before our father, and when he dies, we will return to it.'" He said: "Between you and me is the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny)." Khudhaym said: "We are pleased." Then Khudhaym, Huniifah, and Hanzalah, along with them, stood, a boy being a rider on Khudhaym's mount. When they came to the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), they greeted him. The Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: "What brings you up, O Abu Khudhaym?" He said: "This," and he struck his hand on Khudhaym's thigh. He continued: "I feared that old age or death would overtake me, so I wanted to make a will. I said that the first thing I wish to bequeath is to my orphan, this one in my lap, one hundred camels that we used to call in the Days of Ignorance al-Muṭayyabah." The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) became angry, until we saw anger on his face. He was sitting, then he knelt on his knees and said: "No, no, no! Charity is five times, or ten, or fifteen, or twenty, or twenty-five, or thirty, or thirty-five. If it increases, then forty." Khudhaym said: So they bid him farewell, and with the orphan was a stick, with which he was striking a camel. The Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: "This is a great staff for an orphan." Hanzalah then said: He brought me closer to the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) and said: "I have sons with beards and those younger than them, and this is the youngest. Pray to Allah for him." He stroked his head and said: "May Allah bless you" or "Blessing be upon you." Dhiyal said: I saw Hanzalah being brought a person with a swollen face or an animal with swollen udders, and he would spit on his hands and say: "In the name of Allah," then place his hand on its head and say, in the place of the hand of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), and rub it on him. Dhiyal said: Then the swelling would go away.

1860 - Hanzhalah ibn Hudhaym ibn Hanifah al-Tamimi, also called al-Asadi, or Asad Khuzaymah, and he is said to be al-Maliki.... Al-Bukhari narrated this from some of the narrators. Imam Ahmad said: Abu Sa'id, a freedman of Banu Hashim, narrated to us, saying: Al-Thiyal ibn Ubayd narrated to us: I heard my grandfather Hudhaym ibn Hanifah mention that his father Hudhaym ibn Hanifah said: "My grandfather Hanifah said to Hudhaym: 'Gather my sons for me.'" So he gathered them and instructed them, saying: "Indeed, my orphan grandson in my lap has a hundred camels." Hudhaym replied: "O father, I heard your sons saying: 'We are only doing this so our father's eyes may be comforted. When he dies, we will return.'" They then went to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny). Hanifah, Hudhaym, and those with them came, and Hanzhalah was with them, a boy riding on his father Hudhaym's donkey. Hanifah told the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) his story. The Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) became angry, knelt on his knees, and said: "No, no! The charity is to be five percent, or ten, or twenty, or thirty. If it is excessive, then forty." He said they bid him farewell, and with the orphan was a small staff. The Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: "This small staff of an orphan is significant." Hudhaym said: "I have sons with beards, and this is the youngest of them," referring to Hanzhalah. "Pray to Allah for him." He then laid his hands on Hanzhalah's head and said: "May Allah bless you," or he said: "Blessings be upon you." Al-Thiyal said: "I indeed saw Hanzhalah being brought a person with a swollen face. He would spit on his hands and say: 'In the name of Allah,' then place his hand on the person's head, where the hand of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) had been, and massage it. Then he would wipe the area of the swelling, and the swelling would disappear."

7082 - Narrated from Hanzalah ibn Huthaym that his grandfather Hunayfah said to Huthaym: "Gather my sons for me, for I want to make a will." So he gathered them, and he said: "The first thing I want to bequeath is that to this orphan of mine in my lap, there are a hundred camels that we call al-Mutayyabah." Huthaym said: "O father, I heard your sons say: 'We will acknowledge this before our father’s eyes, and when he dies, we will revert to it.'" He said: "Between me and you is the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny)." Huthaym replied: "We are satisfied." Huthaym, Hunayfah, and Hanzalah got up, along with a boy who was riding behind Huthaym. When they came to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), they greeted him. The Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: "What has raised you, O Abu Huthaym?" He said: "This," and he struck his hand on Huthaym's thigh, and said: "I feared that old age or death might suddenly overtake me, so I wanted to make a will. And I said that the first thing I want to bequeath is that to this orphan of mine in my lap, there are a hundred camels that we used to call al-Mutayyabah in the Days of Ignorance." The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) became angry; we saw anger on his face. He was sitting, then he knelt on his knees and said: "No, no, no! Charity is a fifth, or else ten percent, or else fifteen percent, or else twenty percent, or else twenty-five percent, or else thirty percent, or else thirty-five percent. Be excessive, even forty." Then they bid him farewell, raising a staff, and he was striking a rope. The Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: "This is a great matter, a warning for the orphan." Hanzalah said: My father then approached the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) and said: "This orphan has sons with beards, and they are older than him, and this one is the youngest. Pray to Allah, Blessed and Exalted be He, for him." He stroked his head and said: "May Allah bless you, or blessed be you." Dhiyal said: I certainly saw Hanzalah being brought a person with a swollen face or an animal with a swollen udder, and he would spit on his hand and say: "In the name of Allah," then place his hand and say: "In the place of the hand of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny)," and rub it on him, and the swelling would go away. Narrated by Ahmad, and its narrators are trustworthy.

He said: "I served him for ten years in Medina while I was a boy, and not every person has what my companion wished me to have. He never said to me in those years, 'Uff' (a sign of annoyance), nor did he ever say to me, 'Why did you do this?'" He said: "And when the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) would pray the morning prayer, the servants of Medina would come with their vessels containing water, and they would all come with a vessel except that he would dip his hand into it. Sometimes they would come to him in the cold morning, and he would dip his hand into it." These are authentic narrations documented in the Sahih (authentic collections) as mentioned, elsewhere.

2930 - .... He said: I was informed by Abu Mas'ud Haniyy ibn Yahya who said: Al-Thiyal ibn Ubayd narrated to us, saying: I heard Hanzalah ibn Hudhaym ibn Hunayfah say: .... We used to call what were known as al-Muṭayyabah during the Jahiliyyah a charity for the orphan of this one in his care. Then I saw anger in the face of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) until he knelt on his knees and said: "There is no god but Allah, charity is only five parts. If not, then ten. If not, then fifteen. If not, then twenty. If not, then twenty-five. If not, then thirty. If it increases, then forty." Huniifah hurriedly replied, saying: "O Messenger of Allah, I beseech you by Allah, is it forty of those we used to call al-Muṭayyabah in the Jahiliyyah?" Hunayfah bade him farewell, and the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: "Where is your orphan, O Abu Hudhaym?" He said: "He is yonder, sleeping," and he resembled one nearing maturity. The Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: "The significance of this is a rod for an orphan." Then Hunayfah and his sons stood up to their she-camels. Hudhaym said: "O Messenger of Allah, I have many sons, some of whom have beards and some are younger." Hanzalah said: "And I am the youngest of them," and you made du'a for him, O Messenger of Allah." He said: "Draw near, O boy," and he drew near to him. The Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) placed his hand on his head and said: "May Allah bless you." Al-Thiyal said: I saw Hanzalah being brought a man with a swollen face and a sheep with a swollen udder. The Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) would then spit into his palm and place it on the person's bald spot, saying, "In the name of Allah, in the wake of the hand of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny)," and then he would wipe the swelling, and it would disappear.

36998 - His narration from al-Thiyal ibn Ubayd ibn Hanzalah ibn Huthaym al-Hanifah: I heard my grandfather say: Al-Hanifah said to his son Huthaym: "Gather my sons for me, for I want to make a will." So he gathered them, and then he said: "I have gathered them, O my father." He replied: "Then the first thing I will advise is one hundred camels that we used to call al-Mutayyibah in the Days of Ignorance, as a charity for the orphan of this one, in his care." He said that the name of the orphan was Dars ibn Qut'iyyah. Huthaym said to his father al-Hanifah: "I hear your Prophet's followers say: 'The eyes of our father will only find comfort in this, and when he dies, we will divide it and allocate to him a share like that of some of us.'" Al-Hanifah replied: "Did you hear them say that?" He said: "Yes." Al-Hanifah said: "Then there is a Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) between me and you." So they went to him and found him sitting. He said: "Who are these approaching?" They replied: "This is al-Hanifah, a man who has more camels than anyone else in the desert." He asked: "And who are these around him?" They said: "The one on his right is his eldest son Huthaym, and we do not know the one on his left." When they came to the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), al-Hanifah greeted رسول الله (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), and then Huthaym greeted him. The Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: "O Abu Huthaym, what has brought you to us?" He replied: "This has brought me," and he struck Huthaym's thigh. He continued: "Is this not Huthaym?" Huthaym said: "O Messenger of Allah, I am a man of considerable wealth, with one thousand camels and forty horses, not to mention my wealth in the houses. I feared that death or the command of Allah might overtake me, so I wanted to make a will. I bequeathed one hundred camels that we used to call al-Mutayyibah in the Days of Ignorance as a charity for the orphan of this one in his care." Then I saw anger on the face of رسول الله (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) until he knelt on his knees and said: "Beware! No, not three times. Charity is only five, or ten, or fifteen, or twenty, or twenty-five, or thirty. If it increases, then forty." Al-Hanifah quickly said: "I bear witness, O Messenger of Allah, that it is forty from those we used to call al-Mutayyibah in the Days of Ignorance." Al-Hanifah then bid him farewell, and رسول الله (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: "Where is your orphan, O Abu Huthaym?" He replied: "He is over there, asleep." He was resembling a young man nearing puberty. The Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: "Due to the greatness of this, it is a staff for the orphan." Then al-Hanifah and his sons stood up to their camels, and Huthaym said: "O Messenger of Allah, I have many sons, some of whom have beards and some do not. This is the youngest of them, and he is Hanzalah. You allocated to him, O Messenger of Allah." The Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: "Come here, O boy." So he drew near and raised his hands, placing them on his head, and then said: "May Allah bless him." Al-Thiyal continued: "I saw Hanzalah bringing to him a man with a swollen face and a sheep with a swollen udder. He would spit into his palm and then place it on his rib, saying: 'In the name of Allah, on the trace of the hand of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny),' and then he would wipe the swelling, and it would disappear."

The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) drew me close, stroked my head, and said: "May Allah bless you." Al-Dhiyal then said: "I indeed saw Hanzalah being brought a man with a swollen face or a sheep with a swollen udder, and he would say: 'In the name of Allah, on the place of the hand of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him),' and he would stroke it, and the swelling would disappear."
