- (Another Benefit): Some have inferred from the permissibility of kissing the corners the allowance of kissing anyone who deserves veneration, whether human or otherwise. As for kissing the hand of a human, this will be discussed in the Book of Manners. As for others, it was reported that Imam Ahmad was asked about kissing the Prophet's (peace be upon him) pulpit and kissing his grave, and he saw no harm in it. However, some of his followers found the validity of this unlikely and it was reported from Ibn Abi al-Sayf al-Yamani, one of the scholars of Mecca from the Shafi'is, the permissibility of kissing the Qur'an, parts of hadith, and the graves of the righteous. And Allah grants success.

374 - Ahmad ibn Salman al-Faqih narrated to us, saying: Isma'il ibn Ishaq al-Qadi narrated to us, saying: Ahmad ibn Yunus narrated to us, from Asim ibn Muhammad ibn Zaid, from his father, who said: Abu Hurairah used to stand on Fridays beside the pulpit, placing the heels of his sandals in his arms, then grasping the knob of the pulpit, and he would say: Abu al-Qasim (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said, Muhammad (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said, رسول الله (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said, the Truthful, the Trustworthy (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said. Then he would say during some of this: Woe to the Arabs from an evil that is drawing near! And when he heard the sound of the door of the enclosure moving with the imam's exit, he would sit down. This is a sound hadith according to the criteria of the two shaykhs, and they did not narrate it like this. However, the purpose is not to authenticate the hadith: Woe to the Arabs from an evil that is drawing near, as they have both narrated it. Rather, the aim is to recommend the practice of narrating a hadith from the pulpit before the imam's exit.

- .... Among his etiquettes was: Abdullah ibn Ahmad said: I saw my father take a hair from the Prophet's (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) hair and place it on his lips, kissing it. I think I also saw him place it on his eye, dip it in water, and drink it as a means of seeking healing. I also saw him take the Prophet's (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) bowl, wash it in a handful of water, and drink from it. He drank from the water of Zamzam, seeking healing, and wiped his hands and face with it. I said: Where is the one who is overly strict, denouncing Ahmad when it is established that Abdullah askedhis father about someone touching the pomegranate of the Prophet's (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) pulpit and brushing against the noble chamber? His father said: I do not see anything wrong with that.

1959 - .... And there is a narration among the Malikis: he would place his hand over his mouth without kissing it, and some have inferred from the permissibility of kissing the stone and also the muhjīn (staff) that it is permissible to kiss anyone deserving of reverence, whether human or otherwise. It has been reported that Imam Ahmad was asked about kissing the Prophet's (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) pulpit and kissing his grave, and he saw nothing wrong with it. However, some of his companions found such a view unlikely to be correct, and it was reported from Ibn Abi al-Sayf al-Yamani, one of the scholars of Mecca from the Shafi'is, the permissibility of kissing the Quran, parts of Hadith literature, and the graves of the righteous.

- .... Ishaq ibn Ibrahim al-Faqih said: "And one of the things that has always been characteristic of those who perform Hajj is to pass through the city of Medina and intend to pray in the Mosque of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) and seek blessings through seeing his garden (his tomb), his pulpit, and his grave, his sitting place, the touches of his hands, the places where his feet stood, and the pillar he would lean against, where Gabriel would descend with revelation to him, and to honor him and those who populated it from among the Companions and Imams of the Muslims, and to reflect on all of this."
- .... Ibn Umar was seen placing his hand on the Prophet's (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) seat from the pulpit and then placing it on his face.
- .... And Ibn Qusayt and al-Utbi narrated: "The companions of the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) would, if the mosque was empty, touch the pomegranate on the pulpit that was closest to the grave with their right hands," and then face the Qibla in prayer.

It is narrated that Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) saw a man placing his hand on the Prophet's (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) grave, and he forbade him, saying: "We did not used to recognize this as a proper way to approach him," and others mentioned similar sentiments. In the book al-Ilal wa al-Su'alat by Abdullah ibn al-Imam Ahmad, from his father, there is a narration from Abu Ali al-Suwan, in which Abdullah said: "I asked my father about a man touching the Prophet's (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) pulpit, seeking blessings by doing so, kissing it, and doing the same at the grave, hoping for the reward of Allah, the Almighty. He replied: There is no harm in it."
