3642 - Narrated to us by Abdullah bin Abi Dawud, who said: Muhammad bin Yahya narrated to us, Yunus bin Muhammad narrated to us, Abdul Wahid bin Ziyad narrated to me, and Abu Umays told me, from Iyas bin Salamah, from his father, that the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) permitted the temporary marriage of women in the Year of Awtaas for three days, then forbade it.

3643 - Abu Bakr ibn Abi Dawud narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, saying: Abu Nu'aym narrated to us, saying: al-Bara' ibn Abdullah narrated to us, saying: Abu Nadhr from Ibn Abbas that Umar forbade temporary marriage (mut'ah) involving women, and said: "Allah only made it permissible for the people during the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), and the women were few then. Later, He made it forbidden for them, so I do not see anyone able to do something of that sort who could be exempt from punishment."
