193 - Waki' narrated to us from Isma'il ibn Abi Khalid from Qais from Abdullah who said: While we were young, we said, "O Messenger of Allah, should we not castrate ourselves?" He replied, "No." Then he gave us permission to marry a woman with a garment for a fixed term." Then Abdullah recited: {O you who have believed, do not make unlawful the wholesome things Allah has made lawful for you} (Surah Al-Ma'idah 5:87).

17076 - Muhammad ibn Bashar narrated to us, from Abdul Aziz ibn Umar, from al-Hasan ibn Muslim from Ibn Tawus, who said: "The practice of temporary marriage (Mut'ah) was like the practice of permanent marriage (Nikah), except that the duration was in the hands of the women."

He said: So we said, "O Messenger of Allah, should we not practice eunuchism?" He replied, "No." Then he gave us permission to marry a woman with a garment for a specified time." Then Abdullah recited: {O you who have believed, do not make unlawful the pleasant things which Allah has made lawful for you} (Surah al-Ma'idah 5:87).
