3670 - Muḥammad ibn Khuzaymah narrated to us, saying: Ḥajjāj narrated to us, saying: Ḥammād narrated to us, from Ḥumayd, from al-Ḥasan from 'Imrān ibn Ḥuṣayn, who said: "We engaged in temporary marriage (mutʿah) during the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) as a form of Hajj (mutʿah al-ḥajj), and he did not forbid us from it, nor did Allah reveal any prohibition concerning it."

3671 - Suleiman narrated to us, who said: Al-Khusayb narrated to us, who said: Hammam narrated to us from Qatadah from Abu Nadhrah from Jabir ibn Abdullah, who said: "We engaged in tamattu' (ritual enjoyment) with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny). Then when Umar became leader, he addressed the people and said, 'Indeed, the Quran is the Quran, and the Messenger is the Messenger, and they were both forms of tamattu' during the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny): the tamattu' of Hajj. So, separate your Hajj from your Umrah, for it is what is more complete for your Hajj and more complete for your Umrah.' And the other was the tamattu' of women, which has been forbidden and will incur punishment.'"

3686 - What Yazid ibn Sinan narrated to us, he said: Maki ibn Ibrahim narrated to us, he said: Malik narrated to us from Nafi' from Ibn Umar, who said: Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "There were two forms of enjoyment that were present during the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), which he forbade and would punish for": the enjoyment of women and the enjoyment of Hajj.
