7436 - Uthman ibn Abi Shaybah narrated to us, saying: Jarir and Muhammad ibn Fudayl
narrated to us from Yazid ibn Abi Ziyad, from Sulayman ibn Amr ibn al-Ahwas, who said: Abu Hilal
told me from Abu Barzah, who said: We were with the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) during a journey when we heard two men singing, and one of them said to his companion:
"The dialogue may remain, but its bones will not decay,
*The turmoil of war has kept him from going mad and being buried."
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said, 'Who is this?' It was said to him, 'Such-and-such a person and such-and-such a person.' He then said, 'O Allah, make them both stumble in a trial and leave them in the Fire, making supplications.'7437 - Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Fudayl narrated to us from Yazid ibn Abi Ziyad
from Sulayman ibn Amr ibn al-Ahwas, who said: The Lord of this house, Abu Hilal, told me that he heard Abu Barzah al-Aslami narrating that they were with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) when they heard singing and were eager to see it. A man stood up to listen, and this was before the prohibition of wine. He went to them and then returned, saying: This issuch-and-such a person and such-and-such a person, and they were singing, one responding to the other, and one of them was saying, mentioning something similar.
