6804 - Abu Ishaq Ibrahim ibn Muhammad ibn Yahya and Muhammad ibn Muhammad ibn Ya'qub al-Hafiz said: Abu Ishaq narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Ishaq al-Thaqafi narrated to us, and Qutaybah ibn Sa'id narrated to us, saying: Jarir narrated to us, from al-A'mash, from Abu Wa'il, from Masruq, who said: Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said to me: "I saw myself on a hill with cattle around me being sacrificed." So I said to her, "If your vision is true, a battle will surely take place around you." She replied, "I seek refuge with Allah from your evil! What a terrible thing you have said." I then said to her, "Perhaps it was a matter that would upset you." She said, "By Allah, I would prefer to be the last thing to descend from the heavens than to do that." Then, later on, when it was mentioned to her that Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) killed Dhul-Thudyah, she said to me: "When you go to Kufa, write down the names of people who witnessed that from among those you know in the town." When I arrived, I found the people to be in factions, so I wrote down for her ten from each faction who witnessed that. Then I came to her with their testimonies
and she said: 'May Allah curse Amr ibn al-As, for he claimed to me that he killed him in Egypt.' This is a sound hadith according to the criteria of the two Shaykhs, and they did not include it in their compilations.
