18951 - Abu al-Mughira narrated to us, saying: Safwan ibn 'Amr narrated to us, saying: Shuraih ibn Ubaid narrated to me, from Abd al-Rahman ibn 'A'idh al-AzdI, from 'Amr ibn 'Absa al-Sulami, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) was once showing some horses, and with him was 'Uyayna ibn Hussin ibn Badr al-Fazari. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said to him, "I am more skilled with horses than you." 'Uyayna replied, "And I am more skilled with men than you." The Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said to him, "How is that?" He answered, "The best of men are those who carry their swords on their shoulders, making their spears on the manes of their horses, and wearing tunics, from the people of Najd." The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: "You have lied; rather, the best of men are the men from Yemen, and faith is Yemeni, extending to Lakham and Judham. The people of 'Omān and the Ma'kūl tribe of Himyar are better than their eaters, and Hadramawt is better than the Banu al-Harith. Tribe is better than tribe, and tribe is worse than tribe. By Allah, I would not care if both al-Harith tribes were to perish." "May Allah curse the four kings: Jamda, Makhusa, Mushrakhā, and Abdhi'ah, and their sister, al-'Amrada." Then he said: "My Lord, Mighty and Exalted, commanded me to curse Quraysh twice, so I cursed them, and He commanded me to pray for them, so I prayed for them twice. Then he said, 'Osiya, a group that disobeyed Allah and His Messenger, except for Qais, Jadda, and Osiya.'" Then he said, "To Aslam, Gifar, Mazina, and their mixed tribes from Juhayna are better than the Banu Asad, Tamim, Ghatfan, and Hawazin in the sight of Allah, Mighty and Exalted, on the Day of Resurrection." He then said, "The worst two tribes in Arabia are Najran and Banu Taghlib, and the largest tribes in Paradise are Madhij and Ma'kūl." Abu al-Mughira said: Safwan said, "Himyar, Himyar is better than its eaters." He replied, "Those who have passed are better than those who remain."

7062 - Abu al-Abbas Muhammad ibn Ya'qub narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Abdullah ibn Abd al-Hakam narrated to us, saying: Ibn Wahb narrated to me, informing me that Muawiya ibn Salih told him, from Abd al-Rahman ibn A'idh al-Azd, from Amr ibn Absah al-Sulami (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) was presenting horses, and there was Uyayna ibn Badr al-Fazari with him. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said, "I know more about horses than you do." Uyayna replied, "And I know more about men than you do." The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said, "Who are the best of men?" Uyayna said, "Men who carry their swords on their shoulders and their spears on the saddles of their horses, from the men of Najd." The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said, "You lie; rather, the best men are from Yemen, and faith is Yemen, up to Lakhm and Judham, and what is eaten of Hamir is better than what is eaten of them, and Hadramawt is better than the Banu al-Harith. By Allah, I would not care if the two Hariths were to perish altogether. May Allah curse the four kings: Jumda, Makhus, Abdza, and their sister, al-Umradah." Then he said, "My Lord commanded me to curse Quraysh twice, so I cursed them, and He commanded me to pray for them, so I prayed for them twice." Then he said, "May Allah curse Tamim ibn Murra five times and Bakr ibn Wa'il seven times, and may Allah curse two tribes from the tribes of Banu Tamim: Muqais and Maladis." Then he said, "Aisha disobeyed Allah and His Messenger: Abd Qays, Jada, and Isma." Then he said, "Aslam, Ghifar, Muzayna, and their allies from Juhayna are better than the Banu Asad, Tamim, and Ghatafan at the Day of Resurrection." Then he said, "The worst two tribes in Arabia are Najran and the Sons of Taghlib, and the majority of tribes in Paradise are Madhhij." This is a narration with a strange content but a sound chain of transmission, and they did not include it in their works.
