7271 - "May Allah curse the woman who mourns and the one who listens": for her mourning, for mourning and listening to it is strictly forbidden with severe prohibition. Ibn al-Qayyim said: These hadiths and similar ones indicate that sins can bring a servant under the curse of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), for he cursed those engaged in these sins and others more than these, so they are more deserving of the doer's inclusion under the curse. Even if there were nothing in such an action except the doer's satisfaction in being someone whom Allah and His Messenger curse, it would serve as a deterrent to abandoning it.

And the hadith of Abu Sa'id al-Khudri was narrated by Abu Dawood, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said, "May Allah curse the one who mourns and the one who listens." And the hadith of Abu Umamah was narrated by Ibn Majah: that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) cursed the one who slaps her face, tears her garment, and calls out in woe and despair.
