It said: "O Messenger of Allah, I have been taken, and I have two fawns. Please grant me permission to go and nurse them, and I will return to you." He said: "Where is the owner of this?" The people said: "We are, O Messenger of Allah." He said: "Leave it alone until it comes to its fawns, nurses them, and returns to you." They said: "Who will ensure that for us?" He replied: "I will." So they released it, and it went to nurse, then returned to them, and they tied it up again. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) passed by them and said: "Where are the owners of this?" They said: "Here we are, O Messenger of Allah." He said: "Will you sell it to me?" They replied: "It is yours, O Messenger of Allah." He said: "Leave it alone and let it go." So they did, and it departed.

- .... Abu Nu'aim said: Abu Ahmad Muhammad ibn Ahmad al-Ghutrifi - from his origin - narrated to us, saying: Ahmad ibn Musa ibn Anas ibn Nasr ibn Ubaydullah ibn Muhammad ibn Sirin narrated to us in Basra, saying: Zakariya ibn Yahya ibn Khalad narrated to us, saying: Habban ibn Aghlab ibn Tamim narrated to us, from my father, from Hisham ibn Habban, from al-Hasan, from Dubba ibn Muhsin, from Umm Salama, the wife of the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), who said: While the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) was in a corner of the earth, suddenly a voice called out: O Messenger of Allah, O Messenger of Allah. She said, so he turned, but I saw no one. She continued: Then I walked a short distance, and again the voice called: O Messenger of Allah, O Messenger of Allah. She said, so he turned, but I saw no one. Then the voice was calling out to me, so I followed the sound and came upon a gazelle bound in a snare, and there was a Bedouin man wrapped in a cloak, sleeping in the sun. The gazelle said: O Messenger of Allah, this Bedouin caught me before I could flee with my fawns in this mountain. If you see fit to release me until I can nurse them and then return to my captivity, I would be grateful. He asked, "Will you really do that?" She replied, "Allah would punish me with the torment of a she-camel if I do not." So, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) released her, and she went to nurse the fawns and returned. Then, while the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) was trying to restrain her again, the Bedouin awoke and said: "May my father and mother be sacrificed for you, O Messenger of Allah! I caught her earlier, and do you need anything from her?" I said, "Yes." He said, "She is yours," and released her. She ran off, bounding in the desert with joy, striking her legs on the ground and saying: "I bear witness that there is no deity but Allah, and that you are the Messenger of Allah."

- .... And Al-Hafiz Abu Bakr al-Bayhaqi said: Abu Abd Allah al-Hafiz narrated to me - as a license - from Abu Ja'far Muhammad ibn Ali ibn Dhuhaym al-Shaybani, who said: Ahmad ibn Hazm ibn Abi Urwah al-Ghifari narrated to us, Ali ibn Qadim narrated to us, Abu al-Ala Khalid ibn Tahman narrated to us, from Atiyya from Abu Sa'id, who said: The Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) passed by a she-gazelle tied near a tent, and she said: "O Messenger of Allah, let me go until I can go and nurse my young, then I will return and be tied up again." The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) replied, "This is the prey of a people, and that is the tether of a people." So she agreed to this and swore an oath to him. He then untied her, and she did not remain away for long before she returned, having shaken off what was in her udder, and the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) tied her up again. Then he went to the tent of her companions and asked them to give her to him, and they gave her to him, so he untied her.

She said: O Messenger of Allah! This Bedouin has caught me in heat, and I have two fawns in the wild. This milk has curdled in my teats, and he will neither slaughter me for relief nor let me go, so I cannot return to my fawns in the wild. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said to her: If I leave you, will you return? She replied: Yes, otherwise Allah would punish me with the torment of a barren she-camel. So, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) released her, and it was not long before she came back, licking her lips. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) tied her to the tent, and the Bedouin approached with a water skin. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said to him: Will you sell her to me? He replied: She is yours, O Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny). So, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) released her. Zayd ibn Arqam said: By Allah, we saw her roaming the earth, saying: I bear witness that there is no deity but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny).

It said: O Messenger of Allah, this Bedouin has hunted me, and I have two young ones in the wilderness, and the milk has curdled in my udder. Neither will he sacrifice me, so I can rest, nor will he let me return to my young ones in the wilderness. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said to her: If I leave you, will you return? She replied: Yes, otherwise Allah will punish me with the punishment of the forsaken.
