- .... Many of the major hadith scholars denied it. Abu Muhammad Abdullah ibn Hamed said: Abu al-Hasan Ahmad ibn Hamdan al-Sajzi informed us, saying: Umar ibn Muhammad ibn Bujayr narrated to us, saying: Abu Ja'far Muhammad ibn Yazid narrated to us - by dictation - from Abu Abdullah Muhammad ibn Uqbah ibn Abi al-Suhbah, who said: Abu Hudhayfa narrated to us from Abdullah ibn Habib al-Hudhali, from Abu Abd al-Rahman al-Sulami, from Abu Manzur, who said: When Allah opened Khaybar to His Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), he received from his share four pairs of mules, four pairs of sandals, ten weights of gold and silver, a black donkey, and a basket. He said,
"The Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) spoke to the donkey, and the donkey spoke back to him, saying: What is your name? He replied: Yazid ibn Shahab. Allah brought forth sixty donkeys from the lineage of my grandfather, all of whom were not ridden except by a prophet. There is no one left from the lineage of my grandfather except me, and no one from the prophets except you. I had expected you to ride me. I was previously with a Jewish man, and I would deliberately stumble with him, causing him discomfort in his belly and striking his back." Then the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said:
"I name you Ya'fur, O Ya'fur." He replied: "Here I am." The Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) asked:
"Do you desire females?" He said: "No." So the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) would ride him for his needs, and when he would dismount, he would send him to the door of a man, and he would come to the door and knock with his head. If the owner of the house or someone else came out to him, he would signal to him to "Answer the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny)." When the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) passed away, he went to a well that belonged to Abu Haytham ibn al-Nabbhan and fell into it, becoming his grave, a testament to his sorrow over the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny).
