Volume: (1) - Page Number: (348)
553 - 3081 - narrated to us: Ali ibn Hajar said, Hafs ibn Sulayman informed us, from Kathir ibn Zadhan, from Asim ibn Damrah, from Ali ibn Abi Talib, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, "Whoever recites the Quran and commits it to memory, and makes lawful its lawful things and prohibits its unlawful things, Allah will admit him to Paradise through it and grant him intercession for ten of his family members, all of whom are destined for Hell." Very weak - Ibn Majah 216 (Recorded as number 38, and in Mishkat al-Masabih 2141, Da'eef al-Jami' al-Saghir 5761) This is a strange hadith; we do not know it except from this source, and it does not have a sound chain of transmission. And Hafs ibn Sulayman, Abu Umar al-Bazzaz, a Kufi, is considered weak in narrating hadith.

Abu Umar, this is: Hafs ibn Sulayman al-Qari' al-Kufi and he is regarded as unreliable in hadith, and Umar Abu Hafs, the son of Hafs al-Abdi, followed him and he is similar to him in weakness or even more so. Al-Tabarani recorded it from him in al-Kabir (3/49/1), and al-Haythami's statement (1/333) regarding its chain of narration: "and its narrators are trustworthy" is an instance of his leniency, so it should not be taken into account.

in the context of fighting the disbelievers (for the descent of rain, for the supplication of the wronged, and for the call to prayer) meaning the call to prayer for the obligatory prayers, and the intention is that supplication at these times is answered, as was clearly stated earlier. Al-'Amiri said: It is as if they open for the descent of victory during combat and the descent of blessings for those praying. If a supplication coincides with their opening, it will not be denied, just as if a request coincides with a door of the generous sovereign being open, one’s hope is unlikely to be disappointed. This also encourages attending the mosque on time to wait for the obligatory prayer and the answering of supplications. This is from the hadith of Hafs ibn Sulayman from Ibn Umar ibn al-Khattab. Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani said: Strange. And Hafs is a reciter, an imam in recitation, weak in hadith. Al-Haythami said: There is Hafs ibn Sulayman in it; both Shaykhans and others weakened him.

- .... And from Ibn Mas'ud also narrated by Ibn Majah: that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) used to recite in the Fajr prayer on Fridays: Al-Mu'minun (Surah 23), Al-Anfal (Surah 8), or both, and he also used to recite in the Zuhr prayer: Al-Mu'minun, and he would remain in Ruku (bowing) for a long time. And Al-Tabarani narrated it, and its men are trustworthy. And from Ali ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon him) reported by Al-Tabarani in his two smaller and larger books, similar to the above and in its chain is Hafs ibn Sulayman al-Ghadiri, whom the majority considered weak.

Narrated 'Ali ibn Abi Talib (a.s):

that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.a.) said: "Whoever recites the Qur'an and memorizes it, making lawful what it makes lawful, and unlawful what it makes unlawful, Allah will admit him to Paradise due to it, and grant him intercession for ten of his family members who were to be consigned to the Fire."

Abu Isa said, this tradition is strange, we do not find it except through this chain, and its chain of narrators is not correct, and Hafs Ibn Sulayman weakens it in this tradition.

This was narrated by Ibn Majah and Ibn Abd al-Barr in the chapter on knowledge from the hadith of Hafs ibn Sulayman from Anas, raising it to the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) with an addition: "And placing knowledge with those who do not deserve it is like a pig adorning itself with jewels, pearls, and gold." 28517 - From Uthman ibn Affan, who said: I fell ill, and the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) would visit me. One day he visited me and said: "In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. I seek refuge with Allah, the One, the Eternal, who neither begets nor is born, and to whom there is none comparable, from the evil of what you are experiencing," three times. Then Allah, Blessed and Exalted, healed me. When the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) stood upright, he said to me: "O Uthman, seek refuge with it, for you will not find anything like it." Ibn Zanjuyah mentioned this in his Targhib (Encouragement) on 'Ali (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) and al-Baghawi in his Musnad (Hadith Collection) on Uthman. I am not aware of anyone who narrated it from Alqamah ibn Marthad other than Hafs ibn Sulayman, who was Abu Amr, the companion of recitation, and there is some leniency in his narrations, and al-Hakim in his work on kunyah (pseudonyms).
