492 - Muhammad ibn al-Hasan ibn Kauthar narrated to us, saying: Bishr ibn Musa narrated to us, saying: Abdu's-Samad ibn Hasan narrated to us, saying: Imarah ibn Zadhan narrated to us, from Thabit al-Bunani, from Anas ibn Malik, who said: The angel of rain sought permission to come to the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), and he granted it. Then he said to Umm Salamah: "Keep the door closed; let no one enter." Anas continued: Then Hussein ibn Ali (peace be upon them) came and leaped in until he entered, and he began to climb onto the shoulder of the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny). The angel said to him, "Do you love him?" The Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) replied, "Yes." The angel said, "Indeed, among your ummah is one who will kill him, and if you wish, I can show you the place where he will be killed." Then he struck his hand and showed him red soil. Umm Salamah (peace be upon her) collected it. In the narration of Sulayman ibn Ahmad, it is mentioned that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) smelled it and said, 'It is the scent of grief and tribulation.'" He continued, "We used to hear that he would be killed in Karbala."

1783 - Narrated to us by Ja'far ibn Muhammad ibn Amr, who said: Abu Husayn Muhammad ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Yahya ibn Abd al-Hamid narrated to us, and Sulayman ibn Bilal narrated to us, from Kathir ibn Yazid, from al-Mutalib ibn Abdullah ibn Hantab, from Umm Salamah, who said: The Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) was sitting one day in my house and said: "Let no one enter upon me." So I waited, and then al-Husayn entered. I heard the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) silently weeping. I looked in, and al-Husayn was in his lap or beside him, wiping his head while he was crying. I said: "By Allah, I did not know of his presence until he entered." The Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: "Gabriel was with us in the house and said: 'Do you love him?' I replied: 'As for loving him in this world, yes.'" He said: "Indeed, your ummah will kill him in a land called Karbala." Then Gabriel took some dust from it and showed it to the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny). When al-Husayn was surrounded and killed, he said: "What is the name of this land?" They replied: "The land of Karbala." He said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) spoke the truth. It is the land of grief and trial."
