- .... Al-Bazzar narrated from Ibn Abbas (peace be upon him) who said: Hussein was sitting in the lap of the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), and Gabriel said to him, "Do you love him?" He replied, "How could I not love him, for he is the fruit of my heart."
Gabriel said, "Indeed, your ummah will kill him. Would you like me to show you the place of his grave?" He then took a handful of soil, and it was red. - Imam Ahmad Abd Allah ibn Yahya narrated from his father that he traveled with the Commander of the Faithful, Ali ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon him), and when they reached the bank of the Euphrates, he said, "Good things, O Abd Allah." He replied, "What is that, O Commander of the Faithful?" He said, "I entered upon the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), and his eyes were overflowing with tears. I said, 'What is this, O Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny)?'" He said,
"Gabriel (peace be upon him) stood up from beside me and informed me that Hussein will be killed by the bank of the Euphrates, and he said, 'Would you like to smell his soil?'" I replied, "Yes," and he took a handful of soil and gave it to me, and I could not help but let my eyes overflow." - Imam Ahmad narrated from Abu Umamah al-Bahili (peace be upon him) who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said, "Do not weep for this boy," meaning Hussein, "for it was the Day of Umm Salamah." Then Gabriel (peace be upon him) descended, and the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said to Umm Salamah, "Do not let anyone enter." But when Hussein came, she took him and hugged him, and he cried. She thought he could enter until he sat in the lap of the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny).
Gabriel (peace be upon him) said, "Indeed, your ummah will kill him." He said, "They will kill him while they are believers?" He replied, "Yes," and showed him the soil of his grave." - Imam Ahmad narrated from Aisha or Umm Salamah (peace be upon her): that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said, "A mighty angel has entered the house who has not entered upon me before."
He said, "Your son, Hussein, is to be killed, and if you wish, I can show you the earth where he will be killed." Then he took out red soil.
