Hadith No: 1
Al-Kulayni - al-Kafi

- From Ayoub ibn al-Harr, who said: Did you hear Abu Abdillah (peace be upon him) say: "Everything is to be referred back to the Book and the Sunnah, and any narration that does not agree with the Book of Allah is mere embellishment."
- Muhammad ibn Isma'il from al-Fadl ibn Shadhan, from Ibn Abi Umayr, from Hisham ibn al-Hakam and others, from Abu Abdillah (peace be upon him) who said: "The Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) delivered a sermon at Mina and said: O people, what comes to you from me that agrees with the Book of Allah, I have said it, and what comes to you that contradicts the Book of Allah, I have not said it."

39 - Abu Ayoub narrated from Ibn Abi Umayr, from both al-Hushami brothers and others, who said: The Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) delivered a sermon in Mina and said: "O people! Whatever comes to you from me that agrees with the Book of Allah, I have said it, and whatever comes to you that contradicts the Quran, I did not say it."

51 - It is narrated from Sudeir who said: Abu Ja'far and Abu Abdullah (peace be upon them) said: "Do not believe anything from us except that which is in accordance with the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny)."
- From Abu Abdullah (peace be upon him) who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said in a sermon at Mina or Mecca: "O people, whatever comes to you from me that is in accordance with the Quran, I have said it, and whatever comes to you from me that does not comply with the Quran, I have not said it."
- From Muhammad ibn Muslim who said: Abu Abdullah (peace be upon him) said: "O Muhammad, whatever comes to you in a narration from a righteous or wicked person that is in accordance with the Quran, then accept it, and whatever comes to you in a narration from a righteous or wicked person that contradicts the Quran, do not accept it."
- From Sudeir who said: Abu Ja'far and Abu Abdullah (peace be upon them) said: "Do not believe anything from us except that which is in accordance with the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny)."
- From al-Hasan ibn al-Jahm, from the Able Servant (peace be upon him) who said: "If you receive two conflicting reports, compare them to the Book of Allah and our hadiths. Whichever is more similar is the truth, and if neither resembles the other, then both are false."

130 - From him, from Abu Ayyub al-Mada'ini, from Ibn Abi Umayr, from both al-H shamiyyin and others who said: The Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) delivered a sermon and said: "O people, whatever comes to you from me that agrees with the Book of Allah, I have said it, and whatever comes to you that contradicts the Qur'an, I did not say it."

- (33347) 14 - Narrated from several of our companions, from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Khalid, from his father, from al-Nadr ibn Suwayd, from Yahya al-Halabi from Ayyub ibn al-Harr, who said: "Did you hear Abu Abdillah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) say: 'Everything is to be referred back to the Book and the Sunnah, and every hadith that does not agree with the Book of Allah is mere embellishment'?"

- [21414] 3 - Muhammad ibn Mas'ud al-'Ayyashi in his Tafsir: narrating from Hisham ibn al-Hakam from Abu Abdullah (peace be upon him) who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said in a sermon at Mina or in Mecca: "O people, whatever comes to you from me that agrees with the Qur'an, I said it, and whatever comes to you from me that does not agree with the Qur'an, I did not say it."
- [21415] 4 - And from Isma'il ibn Abi Ziyad al-Sukuni from Ja'far from his father from Ali (peace be upon them) who said in a narration: "So whatever agrees with the Book of Allah, take it, and whatever contradicts the Book of Allah, leave it."
- [21416] 5 - And from Muhammad ibn Muslim who said: Abu Abdullah (peace be upon him) said: "O Muhammad, whatever comes to you in a narration - from a righteous or wicked person - that agrees with the Qur'an, take it, and whatever comes to you in a narration - from a righteous or wicked person - that contradicts the Qur'an, do not take it."
- [21417] 6 - And from Ayyub ibn al-Harr who said: Did you hear Abu Abdullah (peace be upon him) say: "Everything is to be referred back to the Book and the Sunnah, and every narration that does not agree with the Qur'an is falsehood."
- [21418] 7 - And from Kulayb al-Asadi who said: Did you hear Abu Abdullah (peace be upon him) say: "Whatever narration comes to you from us that is not confirmed by the Book of Allah is falsehood."

- What Imam Abu Abdillah al-Sadiq narrated from his grandfather, the Messenger, who said: "The Prophet addressed the people at Mina and said: 'O people, whatever comes to you from me that agrees with the Book of Allah, I have said it, and whatever comes to you that contradicts the Book of Allah, I did not say it.'"

- From Jumail ibn Durraj, from Abi Abdillah (al-Sadiq) (peace be upon him), who said: "Standing at the threshold of uncertainty is better than plunging into destruction. Indeed, upon every truth is a reality, and upon every correctness is a light. So, take what aligns with the Book of Allah, and disregard what contradicts the Book of Allah."

- From Abu Abdullah (peace be upon him) who said: The Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) delivered a sermon at Mina and said, "O people, whatever comes to you from me that aligns with the Book of Allah, I have said it, and whatever comes to you that contradicts the Book of Allah, I have not said it."

- From Jabir, from Abu Ja'far (peace be upon him), who said: Look at our matter and what comes to you from us. If you find it in agreement with the Quran, then adhere to it, and if you do not find it in agreement, reject it. And if the matter is unclear to you, then pause at it and return it to us; we will explain to you from that which was explained to us.

- In the Tafsir al-Ayashi from Muhammad ibn Muslim, he said: Abu Abdullah (peace be upon him) said: "O Muhammad, whatever comes to you in a narration from a righteous or wicked person that agrees with the Quran, take it, and whatever comes to you in a narration from a righteous or wicked person that contradicts the Quran, do not take it."
- And among them is what is in al-Kafi, considered reliable, from Hisham ibn al-Hakam and others, from Abu Abdullah (peace be upon him) who said: The Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) delivered a sermon in Mina and said: "O people, whatever comes to you from me that agrees with the Book of Allah, I have said it, and whatever comes to you that contradicts the Book of Allah, I have not said it."

- From Abu Abdillah (peace be upon him) in a narration: "Indeed, on every truth, there is a reality, and on every correct opinion, there is light. So, take what aligns with the Book of Allah, and leave what contradicts the Book of Allah."
- And in the reliable narration of Ayoub ibn Rashid, from Abu Abdillah (peace be upon him), who said: "Anything from the hadith that does not agree with the Quran is mere adornment."

Sayyid Ja'far Murtada - Al-Sahih min al-Sirah

- Narrating from Ja'far from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) that he delivered a sermon and said: "The reports will spread about me, so whatever comes to you from me that agrees with the Quran is from me, and whatever comes to you from me that contradicts the Quran is not from me."
- And from Ali (peace be upon him): "There will be narrators from me who will relay the hadith, so compare what they say to the Quran. If it agrees with the Quran, take it; but if it does not, then disregard it."

Sheikh al-Saduq - Uyun Akhbar al-Ridha

- Among them is: The statement of Imam al-Ridha (peace be upon him): "So if two differing reports come to you, present them both to the Book of Allah. Whatever is found in the Book of Allah, whether it is stated as permissible or impermissible, follow what is in agreement with the Book. And what is not in the Book, present it to the Sunnahs of the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny)."
